
Triangle under wind advisory
Strong winds knocked down trees, damaged property and caused power outages in and around the Triangle Wednesday. The National Weather Service issued wind advisories for a large portion of the state until midnight.

Prosecutors say Ryan Alexander Barnes pulled the trigger in a gang-related shooting that injured another man and his girlfriend while they sat under a gazebo last summer.

Experts predict Triangle will lead way out of recession
Dr. William Atkinson, chairman of the board of directors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, predicted the Triangle would be one of the first areas in the state and nation to recover from the recession.
